Catherine Wheel I did the watercolor background as part of a batch. After examining this one I realized one of the shapes looked like a wing, and the scrunched saran wrap had created the robes of an angel. My coworkers could not see it. So I set to work with a watercolor scrubbing brush and "erased" out the wing and the face and hand. And enhanced the image with darker paint. This angel basically appeared in the paint as it had dried, I just brought her out, like a picture in a cloud. Unfortunately to the untrained eye the hours of work not immediately apparent. Watercolor (technique using hair, salt, plastic wrap, stamps and leaves), tissue, metallic powdered pigments, Chinese newsprint, photocopy transfers, hand carved stamped images, giftwrap. click on image for details |
